About the Beaverkill River
Two and a half hours northwest of New York City‚ the Beaverkill River is located in the Catskill Mountains in New York State. Considered by many to be the birthplace of fly fishing in the United States‚ the Beaverkill is known for its prolific mayfly hatches and excellent dry fly fishing. It's a classic freestone stream primarily inhabited by brown trout. However‚ both rainbow and brook trout also inhabit the river but in far fewer numbers.
